Vice Principal – Primary Phase L7-11

Ensuring all our students have the very best educational start in life, in an environment where everyone is Valued, Challenged and Inspired,” sits at the heart of what we do in Christ’s College.

As part of Emmanuel Schools Foundation, we are an all through school in Sunderland with pupils from reception to Y11. We are looking to recruit an experienced Primary Leader to become our Vice Principal (Primary Years). The primary phase is currently just over 300 pupils and most year groups are split into two classes.

If you have a passion for teaching and learning and a deep desire to inspire pupils with an engaging and ambitious curriculum then we want to hear from you

Reporting to the principal, the VP Primary will provide outstanding leadership and management to the primary phase; developing the provision to be at least “Good”.

Pupil’s behaviour is very strong and the school is becoming increasingly popular with parents as it rapidly improves. You will work closely with the Principal of the whole school, to ensure that improvements continue. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the primary phase. Supporting teachers to improve their practice, developing the curriculum, ensuring timely use of appropriate assessment, and raising standards.

You will also ensure that our vibrant, celebratory, and inclusive Christian ethos is embedded so that even our very youngest students know they are made in God’s image .There is an occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian.

We very much would welcome and encourage visits to our school from prospective candidates and look forward to meeting you. If you would like to come and see us – please contact jbarber@christscollege.org.uk
