County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) is seeking to appoint an ambitious and forward-thinking individual into the position of Transport Manager. We consider ourselves to be a professional, high performing, inclusive and innovative organisation which is well regarded by the communities in which we serve, and the partner organisations with whom we collaborate.

We are looking for an inspiring individual, who is motivated by making a real difference through their work. Reporting directly to the Group Manager Assets, you will oversee the effective and efficient running of workshops, through the day to day co-ordination of our highly qualified team of mechanics. You will be responsible for all aspects of fleet management, to include maintenance and administration, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

The post holder will have proven experience working as a Transport Manager, preferably within a large organisation. You will work with section heads, senior managers and other colleagues across CDDFRS to develop robust policies and procedures in respect of your role. The post holder will advise the Service on all aspects of Transport Management including the establishment of appropriate transport budgets, procurement of vehicles and the appropriate allocation of vehicles.

In return the post offers 26 days annual leave rising to 31 days after 5 years, flexible working hours, provision of uniform, sports facilities, car parking and a pension scheme.

For informal discussions only, prior to the application deadline, please contact Colin Davis, Group Manager Assets and Assurance, on 0191 375 5658.
