M1-M6 £25,714- £36,961
Required from 1st September 2021 until 31st August 2022.

The Governors of Bowburn Primary School are seeking to appoint an excellent, inspiring and enthusiastic teacher who will join our successful team of dedicated teachers, support staff and leaders who want our children to love learning and life.

Applications are welcome from experienced teachers as well as outstanding NQTs.

Our children want a teacher who:
• is kind, caring and polite;
• is determined and enthusiastic;
• enjoys being with them and makes learning engaging and fun;
• is a good listener.

Our Staff and Governors think you should be:
• inspirational and committed, with high expectations of self and the children;
• cheerful and enthusiastic;
• compassionate, inclusive and supportive;
• a willing team player.

You will have full responsibility for the teaching, learning and assessment of a class, delivering all subjects of the National Curriculum. It is anticipated that the post will be in EYFS or KS1, but could be open to negotiation, depending on the strengths and experience of the successful candidate.

Bowburn Junior School amalgamated with Bowburn Infants and Nursery School in September 2019 to become Bowburn Primary School. We recently moved into a brand new, purpose- built school building on one site in April 2021.

Durham County Council and Bowburn Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. As a disability confident employer, we are committed to employing disabled people and people with health conditions making reasonable adjustments to support disabled applicants when required.

Socially distanced visits to the school are welcomed. Please contact Mrs Allyson Simpson, school office manager, to make an appointment for the following dates and times: Wednesday 9th June 2021 at 4pm or 4.30pm.

Please Email: a.simpson101@bowburnprimary.durham.sch.uk for an application pack or call 0191 3770497.

Application forms should be accompanied by a supporting letter clearly stating relevant previous experience and reasons why you think you are suitable for the post. Please return completed packs to Mrs Simpson at the school.

Closing date: Monday 14th June at 12 noon.
Shortlisting will take place on Wednesday 16th June 2021

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to teach part of a lesson on Monday 21st June. Successful candidates will then be called to interview on Tuesday 22nd June 2021. (full details to be confirmed)

Please note this post is not open to job share.
Appointment will only be made on receipt of suitable references and a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure
