We are looking for an organised, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide technical support, instruction and supervision to students in the safe and correct use of the relevant equipment and materials associated with the multi-disciplinary nature of contemporary Theatre and Film. The successful candidate will display a knowledge of and interest in Theatre and Film and a technical skills base which may include Sound for Theatre, Sound Recording, Sound Design and Theatre Lighting. A familiarity with the processes of editing for film and recorded sound is also highly desirable. Your duties will include assisting academic staff during practical sessions, maintenance of equipment, maintaining and supervising the safe and efficient operation of the teaching area and providing technical support in the development of the lecturers’ practical work with the students.

The ideal candidate may have a Degree in Technical Theatre or Film and have 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, or equivalent, including Maths and English, and should also have excellent visual and verbal communication skills. Alternatively a candidate without a Degree classification but with extensive technical experience in Theatre and Film will also be considered.
