The Unaccompanied Children and Young People’s Team is a newly formed and dedicated team. It has been set up to work with children and young people who are in care and seeking asylum or care leavers who have, or are in the process of securing Leave to Remain in the UK.

We want to recruit a Team Manager to lead and manage the team and to provide operational management to a staff team including, social workers, leaving care personal advisor, resource worker, and business support.

The specialist team will provide a child centred approach and a platform to properly prepare children in care and care leavers for adulthood and the secure resettlement for them in the UK. The team will have a strong focus on care planning and improving the experiences of children and young people in care and beyond.

As Team Manager for Unaccompanied Children you will be responsible for the delivery of social work services and ensure there is a timely and high-quality response to our children and young people, their families and carers. You will have experience of managing social work practice within a deputy role or above.

• Experience of managing within a challenging environment
• Extensive experience of Children in Our Care and Safeguarding
• Comprehensive experience of monitoring safety plans and managing risk
• Knowledge of the legal framework in which children’s service operate
• Experience of managing complex care planning situations
• Supporting and managing change
• Excellent organisational skills and abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent time management skills

Required qualifications: Degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification and current SWE Registration.
