Teacher of Maths – Main/Upper Pay Range plus TLR 2b (£4,783 per annum)

Monkwearmouth Academy is a secondary school in north Sunderland, the school is passionate about education and the values of Believe in yourself, Achieve the highest standards and Succeed in life.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire, enthuse and engage our students to achieve the highest possible results.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Have a sound understanding of pedagogy, displaying excellent classroom practice, developing strong relationships and have excellent subject knowledge.
• Hold high expectations of achievement, attainment and behaviour across the academy.
• Have strong behaviour management strategies and the ability to use the school systems consistently.

In addition, there is the opportunity to work with the Director of Maths to lead on aspects of the delivery of Maths across the academy.

This is an exciting time to join the academy and be part of a strong team of practitioners moving the school forward. As a strong community, we provide a supportive induction programme for new staff and excellent personal development opportunities.
