The Governors of this successful, happy school wish to appoint a talented, innovative and charismatic professional to teach art and some aspects of the design technology curriculum (during class teacher PPA release time from Years 1 to 6) and to co-ordinate art across the school. Creativity is at the core of our ethos at Usworth Colliery. Over the past few years, we have been involved a large number of exciting arts projects with Sunderland Culture which have embedded the arts firmly within our curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent teacher to join our enthusiastic and committed team who are passionate about the arts.

We are looking for a talented, skilled and creative teacher who:
• can effectively teach a varied, engaging and challenging art curriculum to the primary age range.
• is passionate about teaching and children’s learning.
• has high expectations and is fully committed to raising standards and aspirations for all pupils.
• can accept challenge, inspire and motivate others.
• is flexible and committed to working as a team, participating fully in whole school life.

This position is open to both experienced teachers and NQTs, who have experience of working in the primary phase and have a specialism in art and/or design.
