Permanent opportunities at various hours per week are available across Durham County Council leisure centres.

We are seeking to appoint Swim Teachers to deliver the ASA’s learn to swim programme. The post holders will be responsible for the delivery of quality swimming lessons and will assist the Aquatics Co-ordinator in the development of the programme.

The ideal candidates will be self-motivated with strong communications skills and have previous experience of teaching swimming to a wide variety of clients.

Required qualifications:
Swim England Level 2 Teaching Aquatics Qualifications or Equivalent.
Willingness to work towards and obtain the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches.

PLEASE NOTE : as part of the interview process all candidates will be expected to successfully complete the Durham County Council Swimming Teacher Interview Pool Test designed to assess the practical capabilities of the candidate.
