Sunderland Care and Support are a provider of high-quality care to the community of Sunderland, who are passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities. We are seeking to recruit Support Workers into our Planned Care teams who will be able to encourage a workplace culture based on respect and dignity for those in need of care and support.

As a Support worker, your role will be to provide care and support to customers in accordance with standards and legislation. In addition, you will work effectively as part of a team, within a multi-agency framework, providing care and support to enable customers to achieve their maximum level of independence through appropriate physical, emotional and psychological support including: intimate personal care, support with basic health needs and practical tasks that may involve activities in the community.

We are looking for Support workers who will have the ability to be work unsupervised, be proactive in their approach and be confident in their ability to use own initiative. Successful candidates will be supported in their role via induction, probation, supervision and appraisal as well as working jointly with other professionals to ensure customers receive support which is designed to meet their own personal need.

New Employees to the company will receive £500 when they begin their career at Sunderland Care and Support and £500 when they successfully complete their induction and probation (6 month). (The scheme is offered on a discretionary basis, and as such, the Company reserves the right to amend or withdraw it at any time at its discretion)

As the role includes traveling across the city providing support to customers within their own homes, it is an essential requirement that all candidates have a full and current driving licence and vehicle (mileage paid).
