Further information

Darlington Borough Council’s Provider Services has two maternity cover vacancies; 1 x 37hrs and 1 x 18.5hrs, for Support Workers who have an interest in supporting adults with learning disabilities in various settings. The support we currently provide enables individuals to maintain and further develop skills to maximize independence and ensure their assessed needs are met.

We are looking to recruit caring, friendly and motivated individuals to provide both personal and practical support to people with a variety of needs, including some behavioural issues and complex physical needs.

The posts would entail supporting people in short term respite and Supported Living to access their local community. There is a requirement to work shifts on a rota basis including sleep-ins, weekends, waking nights and some bank holidays.

As an employer we can offer you:

• Competitive holidays
• Formal Induction Programme
• NVQ Level 2 in Care and ongoing training and development
• Regular Management Supervision

For detailed information on this role, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification.

For a further informal discussion, please contact Louise Robinson, Home Manager - Supported Living and Respite Services, on 01325 469707 or Peter Fitzpatrick, Team Manager, on 07943 098259.

Important information about the role: The Government has recently passed legislation which will come into force on 11 November 2021 and which means that the successful candidate will be required to show evidence of having been vaccinated with a full course of an approved Covid-19 vaccine unless you have an exemption (certified in writing by a medical professional). Please note that you will be required to show evidence of your vaccination or exemption status as part of the pre-employment checks.
