This is an exciting time to join the Northumberland Adolescent Service, a multi-disciplinary service made up of several teams specialist in meeting the needs of adolescent young people across Northumberland such as the 14+ / 18+ Teams, Youth Justice Service, SORTED, the Youth Service, Accommodation Service and also co-located workers from Northumbria Police.

If you are looking to grow professionally and further your career in social work, we can offer supportive and pioneering practice where you can make a real difference to the lives of young people within Northumberland.

With a recent Ofsted rating of Good, we are proud to have created an environment where social workers can achieve the outcomes they came into the profession to do. As a service we adopt a holistic and multi-agency approach. We have positive relationships with teams across the service and with our external colleagues which allows for effective and well considered interventions that meet young people’s needs promptly and sensitively.

We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced social workers who are keen to develop a specialism in Adolescent Social Work. It is fast paced, but very rewarding and you will benefit from the range of services all under one roof as well as access to training to support you to carry out this role. You will have at least 2 years frontline Social Work experience and will be able to deliver consistency, energy and passion to make a difference to young people's lives; as we place young people at the heart of all we do and aim to provide a quality service to young people in care and care leavers to achieve the best possible outcomes for those young people, their families and carers.

If you are passionate about young people, have excellent communication, assessment and intervention skills and a commitment to high quality practice, then you might be the right person to join our Adolescent Service.

In Northumberland we:

· have a well embedded practice framework to enable meaningful family focused help. ‘Signs of Safety’ enables us to do this respectfully and in collaboration with all the families, colleagues and organisations we are working with

· support career pathways for social workers wishing to progress and develop in front line practice as well as specific interests

· will invest in you in return for your investment in our families and children.

As a Service we can also offer:
