As a Skills for Life Development Officer for learningSkills, you will be required to design, develop and deliver innovative learning programmes at appropriate levels to improve maths for adults throughout the borough
of Gateshead.
You will have knowledge of delivering learning programmes in a range of settings, including screening learners and carrying out initial and diagnostic assessments and also be confident with the maths curriculum. There will also be an element of development work associated with the role to create opportunities for engaging and working with the community including the engagement of hard to reach learners.
Knowledge of current teaching, learning and assessment practices including a commitment to anti-discriminatory practices and strategies to help learners overcome complex barriers to learning is essential. You will be an effective communicator both orally and in writing and be able to work independently with initiative.
As a minimum, you will have a teaching or training qualification and hold a level 5 qualification in numeracy. You must be experienced in the use of ILT in innovative ways to enhance the learning experience. You will have experience of administration and quality measures relating to teaching and learning. A driving licence or means to mobility support is desirable.
