Newcastle City Council is looking to appoint a qualified, dynamic and skilled Social Work Service Manager to provider operational, strategic management and leadership for our Adult Mental Health and our Adult Learning Disability and Autism Teams.
This is an exciting time to join Newcastle City Council and to be part of delivering first class social work services to the people of the City. We are seeking someone who has extensive social work managerial experience, who is committed to delivering Newcastle’s three strategic principles of being fair proud and ambitious.
You will have experience in Adult Social care and knowledge of Adult’s legislation, practice and procedures. You will require a working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and ideally be qualified and have worked as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner.
You must be positive, committed to providing excellent services and bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of supporting staff working with vulnerable adults, their families and Carers.
You will be highly effective at working within deadlines, accountable for service performance and development, contribute to the directorate and council priorities by ensuring the delivery of quality services that are value for money.
Candidates will be required to have the determination, commitment and social work value base to create positive outcomes for those people who you will be responsible for serving in in the City.
You must hold a Social Work qualification or equivalent i.e. MA or BA in Social Work, Dip SW CQSW or CSS. You must also have a current registration with Social Work England.
