We are seeking to recruit skilled and experienced people to work within our Children's Homes. The homes provide care for a small number of children and young people and are situated in the Middlesbrough area. We are committed to Restorative Practice when working with young people and their families.

The successful candidates will provide a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the home provides a service. This will include working with children with very challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, mental health disorders and other additional/special needs.

Successful candidates will be based initially in a named home, but will be expected to work in any Middlesbrough Children's Home or Centre as required and to work with children in the community or within their own homes. You will also take responsibility for additional tasks including providing support and supervision to other staff.

Applicants must:

Have NVQ/Diploma Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or a qualification that the management deems equivalent (including HSC375 Medication Unit or equivalent medication experience) or a willingness to work towards

Experience of working with children and young people

An understanding of child development and challenging behavior

A positive attitude and restorative approach when working with children and young people

You will also be required to work unsociable hours, including weekends, Bank Holidays and nights.

A Full UK Driving License is a requirement for this post.
