Senior Operational Support Assistant - Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Fixed Term Contract until 31 July 2020.

Grade E

An opportunity has arisen within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Service. This post is available initially on a one year fixed term contract basis to 31 July 2020.

The SEND Service supports the assessment, monitoring and review of children with special educational needs and disabilities.

You will be responsible for contributing to an efficient administration service to the Service. This will include providing a high level of customer service to internal and external customers including the use of Aggresso, EMIS, Civica, Care First and Total View to update manual and computerised records to ensure a high level of accuracy is maintained. You will also be involved in creating and processing payments, in line with the Council's financial regulations and maintaining/updating a spreadsheet of current support packages, including processing of associated invoices/payments.

It is essential you have a comprehensive working knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office particularly Excel, database and spreadsheet skills. You will have relevant business support experience including input, retrieval and collation of information from computerised and manual systems.

You should also have effective written and oral communication skills demonstrating a high standard of accuracy, be able to organise and prioritise your workload to ensure timescales are met and are able to work on your own initiative. You should have an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification, and have experience of minute taking.
