Post title: SEND & Inclusion Specialist Support Worker – full time – permanent

Salary: £21,748 - £24,491 Grade 6

Job Location: your normal place of work will be at an HI Resourced Provision (EMP), however you may be required to work at any DCC council office.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Specialist Support Worker for children and young people with a hearing impairment within our resourced provisions (EMPs) in County Durham. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils within the classroom as well as in 1:1 or small group specialist intervention situations under the guidance of the specialist teacher.

You will have:
• NNEB, Cache Level 3, BTEC Diploma in childhood studies, NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Educational/Early Years and Education
• Experience of, or a demonstrable awareness and interest in, supporting individuals or small groups of pupils with hearing impairment within primary or secondary schools
• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities in a mainstream setting
• Skills in British Sign Language or a willingness to learn
