Spark of Genius North East provides therapeutic residential children's homes for children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties in the Stillington, Thorpe Thewles and Hartburn areas of Stockton-On-Tees. The homes adopt a child centred approach to caring for children, ensuring that they are recognised, respected, consulted and afforded choice in their care. The homes offer a warm, caring and nurturing environment that supports a sense of belonging. Children receive a high quality bespoke package of care that ensures they are helped and protected as well as provided with opportunities that will enable them to flourish and maximise their full potential.

We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Manager or aspiring manager who will have overall responsibility for the operational activity of the home.

The successful applicant will be required too:

• Ensure the home complies with relevant statutory regulations, frameworks and guidance.
• Provide effective leadership to the team, empowering staff to provide the best possible care for children.
• Provide effective communication to the team, relevant professionals and the wider organisation.
• Take full responsibility for the implementation of the Quality Standards for Children's Homes and ensure they are effectively translated into day to day practice.
• Develop and implement relevant policies and procedures that will ensure best practice across the organisation.
• Take the lead on Ofsted inspections, Compliance and Regulation Inspections, Regulation 44 visits as well as monitoring visits from local authorities.
• Manage the home within the allocated budget
• Take responsibility for the recruitment and selection of the workforce.
• Provide line management to the team, ensuring that quality supervision, support and appraisal is afforded to all staff members.

• Ensure the team are fully support with training and development opportunities to carry out their role effectively.
• Ensure that all aspects of health and safety are given high priority within the home, including fire safety, infection control, COSHH, accident reporting and RIDDOR.
• Ensure that the recording and report writing within the home, reflects the work undertaken with young people and also fulfils legislative requirements.
• Take responsibility for the recording, monitoring and resolution of complaints.
• Develop Networks in collaboration with other organisations, commissioners and placing authorities.
