An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Health Practitioner to join the Public Health team within Sunderland City Council. The team is committed to the challenge of delivering improvements in health outcomes and reducing health inequalities for local people.

We are seeking an individual with drive, ambition and leadership skills to make a significant contribution to the health of our population by developing and implementing a range of evidence based public health strategies and programmes. The role will have a cross department lead for the healthy weight agenda

A high level of intellectual rigour, political awareness, negotiation, motivation skills, and flexibility are required as well as an ability to understand other cultures, advise, challenge and advocate to enable effective partnership working across organisational boundaries by influencing without direct authority.

The post will offer the opportunity to be involved in different aspects of Public Health, and flexibility is important.
