Providing strategic procurement for Northumberland County Council and Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust; the Shared Procurement Service is a ground-breaking collaboration between local authority and NHS. Its aim is to provide a sustainable and cost effective procurement service which helps drive economic benefits and service quality for all stakeholder organisations.
About the Role
Reporting into the Senior Procurement Specialist (Non Healthcare), the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of a defined number of procurement projects across the two stakeholder organisations and supporting the activities of the Senior Procurement Specialist.
As the role crosses both local authority and NHS with a Non-Healthcare focus, expertise in Local Authority and/or corporate category procurement is desirable but not essential. Those joining the Shared Procurement Service will have a unique opportunity to make a real contribution to shape the direction of this new service. Successful applicants will be proactive and enjoy being challenged by new areas and activities; they will also possess excellent communication and team working skills.
The role provides an excellent opportunity for flexible working including working within an agile environment across a number of offices including Morpeth and Cobalt Business Park, which is located close to Newcastle City Centre offering easy commuting with an extensive road network.
