An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Manager to lead our Children with Disabilities Social Work Team. If you are enthusiastic and passionate, and want to make a real difference in disabled children's lives, then we would like to hear from you.

As the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, operation and ongoing development of the team, providing services for disabled children and young people up to the age of 18 and their families, in accordance with national standards and guidance and departmental policies and procedures.
As part of this role you will ensure that assessments and plans for children are robust, evidence-based, progressed in a timely way, are effective in keeping children safe and are outcome focused. You will also will be responsible for the development of the social care element of the Children and Families Act special educational needs agenda. The work you support will involve children in need, those in need of protection and children in our care.

This post is also subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearances to ensure the Council is compliant with the Government’s requirements for Public Sector Network (PSN) Compliance. The criteria for a BPSS clearance includes applicants being required to satisfy the following the eligibility conditions of nationality/right to work and providing appropriate documentation to enable the Council to verify the identity of the applicant, their employment and/or academic history, and passing a criminal record (unspent convictions) check.
