Sedgefield Out of School Fun Club Ltd

£14.16 an hour, 30 hours per week

The Directors of Sedgefield Out of School Fun Club Ltd are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated manager to run this popular, successful and well-established out of school facility, which is housed in new, purpose built accommodation in the grounds of Sedgefield Primary School.

Main duties include:

• Effectively managing a team of 8 part-time staff to provide care, play opportunities and activities in a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment.
• Leading and being responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of the club and overall delivery of a high-quality service.
• Communicating with parents/carers in a positive, sensitive and constructive manner.
• Being responsible for the administration, record keeping, bookings, billing, collection of fees and other financial requirements.

The candidate we are looking for has:

• The ability to create an inspirational and stimulating child-centred play and care environment.
• A minimum of a level 3 qualification in childcare or playwork or other relevant professional qualification and at least 3 years’ experience of working with children within the 3 – 14 age range.
• Excellent communication and interaction skills with children and the ability to meet their individual needs, including those with special educational needs.
• High expectations of everyone and a commitment to strive for excellence.
• Experience of working in a supervisory or management capacity, proven leadership skills, experience of administration and excellent organisational skills.
• An optimistic, energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• The ability to work on own initiative using judgement and common sense.
• Self-motivation and an ability to cope with a high level of responsibility.
• The ability to respond to issues with confidence, good judgement, sensitivity, discretion, tact and professionalism.
• Sensitivity and commitment to the care, guidance, support and safeguarding of children.

Hours: 30 per week throughout the full year, negotiated to suit (setting open
7.30 – 8.55am, 3.15 - 6.00pm term time, 7.30am – 6.00pm holidays)

Holiday allowance: 20 days (some to be taken over the Christmas period)

Start date: 7th October 2019 (negotiable for the right candidate).
