We are seeking to appoint a Band 10, permanent Occupational Therapist with a minimum of three years post qualifying experience working in Social Care. You will be required to have a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.

The successful candidate must have experience of undertaking Children and Adult complex cases, functional assessments, equipment, minor and complex major adaptations including Disabled Facility Grants and manual handling.

The well established Occupational Therapy Team consists of both qualified and unqualified OT staff including an OT Technician. All staff are responsible for their own caseloads.
As a busy Occupational Therapy Team we receive over 100 referrals per month and in this role you will be expected to carry a high caseload of a very complex nature. It is expected that the successful candidate will have a varied and in depth knowledge of both standard and specialised equipment/adaptations. The successful applicant will be expected to mentor and support the Band 9 OT’s and will also join the OT Duty Rota on a weekly basis. Cases are varied and include those which require joint work with both Social Workers within the team and external care providers to ensure safe moving and handling in the community. We work very closely with Social Work colleagues ensuring packages of care meet need through effective management of the Council resources.

As a Council we have adapted to the challenges of Covid and have embraced agile working and are utilising technology for assessments. This role will allow the opportunity for a blended home/office experience.
