Following a detailed Peer Review and a successful funding bid through the DfE’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding – Implementing the Reforms Programme, Newcastle Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) has embarked on a programme of transformation. Building on its foundations of strong partnership working NSCP is strengthening its resources and approach to providing assurance that arrangements for safeguarding children in Newcastle are effective. This includes developing new methods for providing scrutiny that will place the voices of children, families, and frontline practitioners at the heart of the Partnership.
This exciting work will require dynamic leadership across the Newcastle Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) and the role of NSCP Coordinator is crucial to its success.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic children’s services professional to join our Children’s Safeguarding Standards Unit as NSCP Co-ordinator. You will need a strong understanding of the safeguarding process, as well as national and local guidance and research. With excellent organisational skills you will be an expert at building effective working relationships and delivering on deadlines.
As the NSCP provides assurance to local agency leads that local safeguarding systems, processes and practices are effective you will be involved in a broad range of work. This will include supporting the completion of case reviews; quality assurance audits; the development of policies and procedures; and the development and delivery of training programmes.

This is a fixed term contract for 3-6 months.
