The King’s Academy is an 11-18 school which serves the communities of Hemlington and Coulby Newham in Middlesbrough. We aim to provide a first-rate education to our students, informed by our Christian ethos, which helps to develop their character as well as academic excellence in a culture of high expectations and accountability and which is only possible through our high quality and committed staff team.

The busy academy restaurants are at the heart of daily school life, serving over 1,000 healthy, nutritious meals for students, staff and visitors across two sittings and providing opportunity for social development and refreshment each lunchtime.

We are currently looking for temporary Lunchtime Assistants to assist with the smooth and efficient movement of students through the restaurants during the lunchtime period, including the wiping down of tables.

You must:

• enjoy working with and be able to supervise teenage students, be comfortable issuing directions and able to command respect;
• be able to consistently follow directions but also be able to use your initiative to make decisions where required;
• be willing to work hard and diligently in a highly visible role within a busy, pressured environment; and
• have high working standards and of cleanliness, always want to do your best and be able to work productively as part of a team.

Previous cleaning and customer facing experience would be an advantage, as would experience working in a school environment.

The job is term time only, 10 hours per week (2 hours per day from 12-2pm), Monday to Friday. Pay rate is £8.91 per hour. There is access to the Local Government Pension Scheme. Fixed term to July 2022.
