This post is based at the centre of the council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the council’s money and people as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

We are are looking to recruit a Logistic Support Officer to support the current Logistics Lead within the IT Service. We currently source IT equipment and contracts from many sources around the world. As part of RCBC Brexit preparations we need to ensure we are sourcing IT equipment that is not only fit for purpose for now and the long term future but also provides value for money, whilst ensuring our licencing policies comply with current legislation and any post Brexit changes to the legislation.

This role will assist the Logistics Lead in negotiating the best value for money contracts ensuring we are delivering a valued logistics service across the whole IT Department and Council.

The Logistics Support Officer will work to ensure the process behind IT procurements, delegated authorities, licencing, and contracts in association with third parties, comply with good Governance and business efficiency and fit into the Councils Brexit strategy.

The Logistics Support Officer will assist in the development, maintenance and review of IT contractual requirements, to ensure the effective reporting of IT licencing to meet the Council’s IT legal requirements and the Councils Brexit strategy.

You will need experience of supporting and maintaining a secure procurement or financial system, accurate data entry and maintaining change and version control in a line-of-business system. You will also have the ability to work to strict and challenging deadlines, use relevant IT packages, have good organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
