The Housing & Public Protection Team operates throughout Northumberland and is responsible for maintaining council housing stock. The successful apprentice will work alongside experienced staff undertaking a range of repair and maintenance activities.

Property Maintenance Operative Apprentices will learn how to use their knowledge and understanding of basic carpentry, plastering, plumbing and decorating to help maintain the condition, safety and working order of the homes across the county.

You will gain an understanding of the mechanism of buildings including electrical, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment. You will help provide first and immediate response to fault finding, whilst maximising quality and ensuring cost effectiveness.
