An ideal opportunity has arisen in our Foundation learning team at Northumberland College, Kirkley Hall. Due to increasing student numbers, expansion of the curriculum and a significant capital investment in facilities our SEND provision now requires a dedicated Maths and English specialist to develop knowledge and skills in these subjects for our students.

Ranging from E2/3 RARPA qualifications to Level 1 Diploma subjects in Land based disciplines our provision supports students with SEND to make effective progress into adulthood during their student journey with us. The development of maths and English skills is essential in this journey, we are therefore seeking an enthusiastic, professional and engaging candidate who should ideally be experienced in teaching or working with students aged 16-19 with SEND, qualified to deliver Maths and English and looking for an exciting and rewarding career.

The planning and delivery of learning is the key focus of this role, along with the setting, monitoring and achievement of student led targets. Effective liaison, good communication and a flexible and approachable style is key to working with students, colleagues, parents, carers and other stakeholders as part of this role.

This post provides an exciting opportunity to join an expanding college, which has high standards and expectations for its students. You will be working in an outstanding new SEND facility on a beautiful Land based campus, where there is significant opportunity to embed the practical skills of Maths and English in active curriculum based learning.

Attractive benefits for this post include 48 days’ annual leave per year plus bank holidays and the opportunity to join the Teacher Pension Scheme.
