We have an exciting opportunity for you to become the deputy manager of our kindergarten at Hylton Castle in Sunderland. The kindergarten is situated in self-contained premises on a local authority primary school site. It is well resourced and well maintained and has a professional, committed staff team.
Contract type - Permanent, full time

Hours: 41.25 hrs a week, 52 weeks a year

Start date: 1st September 2019 or soon after

Annual salary: £19,700
Annual Leave: 20 days plus 8 bank holidays plus 5 closure days

The deputy manager will be fully responsible for supporting the day to day running of the kindergarten ensuring delivery of the best opportunities for every child to learn and develop. She/he will be self-motivated and enthusiastic and will display strong leadership skills to deliver outstanding care and education. This role is perfect for an ambitious person with a professional approach and an enthusiasm for working with pre-school children and who is looking for career progression.

• has a passion for working with pre-school children and is motivated and enthusiastic about high quality child-led learning both indoors and outdoors
• is committed to achieving and maintaining high standards through high quality leadership
• sees the value of reflecting on their own practice and that of their team in order to bring about improvements in provision and in outcomes for children
• sees the value to be gained from children learning with nature and appreciates the wide benefits that this can bring to their enjoyment and motivation
