The Routes to Work project is a jointly funded pilot initiative involving the Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to support those people most distant from the labour market to prepare for and access work.

The pilot initiative will support people aged 30 and over facing the greatest difficulties in accessing jobs. This includes people who have been out of work for a long period, those who face physical and mental health challenges.

The project provides an exciting opportunity to test new ways of collaborative working at a local level that takes a person centred and responsive approach to address the multiple barriers that some people face when trying to access work.

The project will provide holistic support from a range of service providers for those unemployed or economically inactive people across the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, who are considered to need the most help and support to get back to work.

The purpose of the post is to manage a caseload of participants and provide them with high levels of individual service and support to overcome barriers to work and to secure sustainable employment.

The successful candidate will be required to work with a range of partners and have previous experience of working with unemployed residents who may have complex needs.

Applicants must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and have the ability to engage and work one to one with those who may have complex needs and challenging behaviours to influence and secure positive change in peoples' lives.

Please ensure you refer to the Job Description and the essential and desirable criteria in the Person Specification when completing the Personal Statement on the application form, as this information is used to select candidates for interview.

If you would like an informal discussion about the post, please contact Claire Ashley, Routes to Work Programme Co-ordinator, on 01642 528170.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council ensures that all customers, both internal and external receive a consistently high quality level of service.
