About the role:
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service are seeking to appoint an experienced Communications and Corporate Affairs professional to work closely with our Executive Leadership Team to ensure we continue to achieve our objectives, and maximises our contribution to the communities we serve and the wider Fire and Rescue Sector.
With a high profile across the North East, and also nationally within our sector, we believe that credible and influential relationships with all of our stakeholders are key to our success and this opportunity requires an individual who can develop strong partnerships.
This role will involve being our authoritative lead on media relations, internal communications and engagement, public relations, reputation management, stakeholder consultation and influence.
To be successful in this role, you will need to understand the nature of our relationships with our stakeholders and how to build our reputation and influence with government, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of CFRS, the National Fire Chiefs Council and others.
You will lead a talented multi-disciplinary team who manage internal and external communications using multi-media technology.
You will have a track record of demonstrable achievements in your field, working with Strategic leaders and the personal credibility, including the political awareness to have a real impact inside and outside our organisation.
