Our trust is a collaborative partnership of six primary and secondary schools. We also have a national research school, which aims to build and strengthen networks of schools throughout the region and help them access effective education research and implement it in everyday practice. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East.

At this exciting stage of our journey, we are looking to continue the transformation of services to the trust’s local governing committees, board of directors and members, who are central to ensuring good outcomes for all our learners, working with the executive and school leadership teams. This focus of this role is to work with the Head of Governance and Corporate Affairs to provide an effective advisory and administrative service for corporate governance and policy, which will include being the lead governance professional/clerk for some of our schools’ local governing committees. This will involve some travel within the region and also some flexibility for early evening work.

The right person will have experience of producing accurate minutes of meetings, providing advice about regulations, procedure and policy and be able to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships. A high level of ICT literary to set up systems and processes to enable paperless governance is essential and you will also provide guidance to the administrator who supports this area of work. To be successful in the role you must have the ability to plan, prioritise and manage your own workload independently to meet deadlines and strong attention to detail to ensure accurate data and documents. It is essential to hold Level 3 Certificate in the Clerking of School and Academy Governing Boards (or equivalent) or to agree to complete this programme of study upon appointment (any costs will be met by the trust).
