We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our team in the role of Family Support / Attendance Officer to support our children and their families across the schools in our Trust (East Herrington Primary Academy and Hetton Lyons Primary School). Working flexibly across our schools with staff, families and children to overcome barriers, you will help to ensure that all children are able to attend school and achieve their full potential. As part of this role the successful candidate will support the schools’ Early Help offer and to achieve their attendance targets.

This is an exciting new role within our Trust and we welcome and encourage applications from an organised professional who has:

• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to remain calm even when under pressure.
• Experience of delivering family support in school and in the community
• Good standards of English, numeracy and competency with ICT
• Ability to liaise with parents and professionals, offering support and challenge as appropriate
• Ability to work using your own initiative at a highly professional level
• A knowledge of safeguarding and Early Help procedures including Sunderland’s Threshold of Need
• Have an understanding of attendance procedures and regulations
• Have a knowledge of agencies that can provide support to families
• Have experience of signposting to appropriate agencies for the benefit of children and families.
• The willingness to be part of highly performing team
• A valid driving license and their own vehicle which is insured for business use
