Post title: Family Support Worker – full and part time positions available.

There are full and part time positions available as well as permanent and temporary positions (temporary posts are until the day before the return of the substantive post holder) across various locations throughout County Durham.

Salary: £21,166 - £23,836 (pro-rata to hours worked)

Job Location: various, however you may be required to work at any team location through County Durham.

The Family Support Worker will provide practical help at the earliest opportunity to enable families to make significant and substantial changes that will impact positively upon themselves and their children.

The successful candidate will have experience of working and supporting vulnerable children and families in the home and community settings as well as demonstrating evidence of delivering planned interventions. Experience of group facilitation and responding effectively to safeguarding concerns is also required.

Duties include but are not limited to :
• Developing and using a range of approaches to engage and build working relationships with parents and families
• Working with parents to empower and enable them to meet their own and their children’s needs
• Work with the Single Assessment Framework and ‘Team around the Family’ processes to contribute to whole family assessments

Essential qualifications: Level 3 qualification in a relevant children’s services field and evidence of continuous professional development.
