We are seeking a keen, motivated and committed individual to be responsible for managing the delivery of energy projects in the Energy Services Teams.

The Energy Services Teams are responsible for energy and sustainability issues in Gateshead, managing the Council's energy use and carbon emissions, and delivering energy and sustainability in the wider community. You will join the teams at an exciting time as we are delivering major capital schemes, to expand heat networks, install renewable heat and power generation and develop new home energy efficiency schemes. To help the team deliver its services, you will manage energy capital projects through the full life, manage contractors effectively, establish and manage the project’s procedures including health and safety compliance, engage and manage stakeholders, support other members of the energy projects team.

You must have knowledge of project management, health and safety in construction, and public sector procurement. Essential qualifications include Level 3 Qualifications in Building / Environment or appropriate subjects, 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or Grade C or above minimum including Maths & English. Experience is required of project management, contractor management, budget management, stakeholder consultation, oral and written communication skills, being self motivated, setting priorities for tasks and managing public sector grant funding.
