The Governors of Catchgate Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, outstanding Early Years Teacher to work across the Early Years Department. The school has a 52 place (26 FTE) nursery for 3 and 4 year olds as well as a reception year. Early Years staff work in partnership with our 2 Year provision preparing children for their next phase in their Early Years journey. Staff also work collaboratively with our private childcare setting to deliver the 30 hour offer.

Under the direction of the Head Teacher, School’s Early Years Lead is responsible for the overall delivery of the EYFS across the whole of the 0 – 5 age range. The successful candidate for this position will work closely with the EY Lead to provide a fun, engaging learning environment enabling all children to access a rich and varied curriculum, providing all children with the best possible learning opportunities in both nursery and reception.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
• A passion for children’s learning
• Ability to provide a broad, stimulating and exciting curriculum
• Drive and enthusiasm to achieve the best possible outcomes for all children
• Commitment and dedication towards their profession, with children’s learning at the heart
• An extensive knowledge of the EYFS, Development matters and current arrangements for assessment within Early Years
• Proven ability to impact positively on pupils achievement
• Able to ensure good progress through effective tracking and pupil learning

In addition to the person specification candidates should:

• Be an excellent Early Years teacher
• Be committed to the ethos and values of the school becoming involved in all aspects of school life
• Be able to lead a small team of EY Support staff
