An excellent opportunity is available within Sunderland City Council’s Registration Service for a Deputy Registration Officer.

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Registrar of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships. The role will expect you to fulfil the statutory duties and responsibilities required of the post.

As this is a permanent variable hours contract you must be available when required.

You will be an excellent communicator and a passionate individual whose service to the public is at the heart of everything you do. As a key member of the team, you will be committed to providing the highest level of service to our residents and customers at the most important and sometimes most difficult moments of their lives. You will be required to liaise with our neighbouring registration districts and our stakeholders such as bereavement services, funeral directors and the coroner’s office.

This post involves all aspects of Registration and will require attendance at each of our Approved Premises, Sunderland Royal Hospital as well as other council offices.

You will be part of the ceremonies team which operates 7 days per week including bank holidays and therefore must be available if required.
