PVH - Permanent Variable Hours - as and when required

Deputy Registrars are required to join the Council’s Law and Governance Service on permanent variable hours contracts.

The post of Deputy Registrar involves registering births, deaths, still-births, marriages and civil partnerships and being involved in the conduct of ceremonies.

As a casual member of staff, Deputy Registrars assist the Superintendent Registrar and Registration Officers at times when the service is busy, including weekends. Good flexibility and availability are therefore essential for this role
The successful candidates will be clear and confident communicators with excellent customer service skills.

Previous experience within a registration service is desirable, though not essential as training will be provided. Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of the requirements of the post.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
