A full-time vacancy has arisen for a Deputy Headteacher at Northern Counties School. Northern Counties is a non-maintained special school with 97 pupils on roll, aged 3-19 years, all of whom have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health and Care Plan.

Northern Counties School is a school that sets out to make a difference to the learning, wellbeing and future life chances of children and young people with significant additional needs. Teachers, Therapists and Special Support Assistants work together in trans-disciplinary teams to meet the individual needs of every pupil. Together, and through detailed analysis of their presentation, we believe we can unlock each child’s potential and support achievement for all.

We wish to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Deputy Headteacher with a strong commitment to Special Needs Education and to inclusive practice to work with the Head of School to maintain and develop our excellent provision.

We are seeking an experienced leader with knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs and with significant senior leadership experience.

• Can further enhance our already excellent and varied curriculum
