Darlington Children's and Adults Services Workforce Development Team work continuously to support our own staff and partners across Darlington.

We are currently supporting the development of Strength Based Working across the Directorate, implementing key approaches, including the Strengthening Families - Family Valued Programme.

To build on our journey of strengths-based practice and support for our families in Darlington, we are looking to employ a forward thinking, motivated and enthusiastic person to help us develop an exciting new concept – The Darlington Academy.

The Darlington Academy is a Continuous Professional Development (CPD), Training and Staff Progression model that spans the professional career of a staff member. Any level of employee can enter into the process seamlessly, and progress, train and develop at a pace that suits both themselves and the Local Authority.

The role of Darlington Academy Coordinator will be to:
- Develop and deliver the Darlington Academy model across the Directorate,
supporting, staff, students, volunteers, partners and service users to
progress, develop and achieve their potential
- Coordinate Step Up to Social Work, Student Placements, Social Work
Apprenticeships and Practice Education across Children and Adults Services
- Work in partnership with the ASYE/KSS Practice Lead to strengthen the
workforce offer and develop a “grow your own and attract the best” ethos

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker for this role, which will be fundamental in supporting the Workforce Development Manager and Principal Social Worker in the development of the Darlington Academy.
