The role of deputy manager will be working across two children’s homes as part of a wider management team.

Addison Street is a purpose built residential short break children’s home for children / young people with learning and / or physical disabilities aged between 6 and 17 years of age. We offer an opportunity for children / young people to enjoy regular short breaks away from home where they can make new friends and experience a wide range of social and leisure activities.

Beech House is a specialist solo occupancy children’s home which supports the most complex young people aged between 8 and 17 with autism, learning disability, ADHD, and complex health needs.

We require a suitably experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our Staff Team and be part of an OUTSTANDING children’s home recently inspected by Ofsted.

You would be expected to deliver direct care which will involve supporting the children to develop, maintain and enhance social, independence and communication skills in partnership with Parents / Carers, Social Worker, Schools and Health Professionals. You would be expected to work within a rota system, including weekends, sleep in duties and waking nights.

Your role will involve supporting the registered homes manager in the day to day running of the home, supervising staff, completing audits, and representing the home at a range of internal and external meetings and events.

The applicant should have sound knowledge and experience of children’s homes regulations and quality standards, and experience of safeguarding and protecting children and young people. In the absence of the registered manager you will be required to manage the home and delegate accordingly.

Applicants must hold, a level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare / Children and Young People or a recognised equivalent qualification. Applicants should have a minimum of 12months management/supervisory experience in children’s residential services.
