North Tyneside Council Adult Learning Service currently employs tutors to deliver learning across a range of Adult and Community Learning courses and venues throughout the Borough. Delivery takes place during the day, evenings and weekends.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, innovative individual to join our team, to teach Functional Skills English at all levels (Entry 1 – Level 2). The successful candidate will be used to teaching a range of adult learners including those on apprenticeship and traineeship programmes. You may also be working with adults with learning difficulties so some specialist knowledge in this area is desirable. You will need to be a patient person who gets on well with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities in order to understand their needs and learning goals.

You should be educated to at least Level 5 in Teaching Adults English and hold an appropriate adult teaching or lifelong learning qualification at Level 4 or qualified teacher status (QTLS). It would be an advantage if you were also qualified to deliver maths to adults

The appointment offers opportunities to play a key role in driving forward the quality and expansion of our Skills for Life provision, as well as the offer to develop programmes for local partnerships and employers, working alongside a highly successful team.
