Starting Date: As quickly as possible.
NORHAM HIGH SCHOOL
11-16 mixed comprehensive (NOR 321)

Norham High School sits at the heart of its community. We are a small school, where everyone knows everyone else – just like the community we serve.
Our catchment area covers one of the most socially challenging areas of North East England. And yet, we are in a part of the country that can offer a superb place to live, to work and for your friends and family to visit.

Given the challenges that our community faces, it is no surprise that we face our own challenges. We need to raise the expectations of our community, our staff and our pupils beyond what they currently think is achievable. We then need to meet those expectations. We need to build a school that will strengthen pupils’ personal development, behaviour and welfare and provide high quality teaching, learning and assessment.

To do this, we need an experienced and inspirational education leader to make this happen by setting the right strategy and implementing it. You can expect strong support from the Board of Governors and our local authority. You will also have the opportunity to shape and strengthen your leadership team.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone working in a school in a comparable area who is ready to take their first headteacher's role, or for someone with more experience for whom working in this area of the country is an attractive proposition. We will consider a secondment arrangement for the right person.
If you are interested, download the information pack from: www.norhamhigh.com/job-vacancies and let us know how your skills, experience and professionalism will inspire our school.

Closing date: 24 June 2019 (12 noon)

Application by: Application form, together with a statement of no more than 750 words explaining how you are the right person to accept the challenge (see information pack for more details). CVs will not be accepted.

Interviews: Wednesday 3rd July and Thursday 4th July.

Norham High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant employment checks deemed appropriate.
