An opportunity has arisen in Neighbourhood Services where we are looking for two individuals to complement our existing customer service team, initially based at the Civic Centre in Gateshead with an element of home working.

1 post x 37 hours permanent

1 post x 37 hours temporary 9 months

This is an ideal development route for those who may be on the look out to further their career within housing, whilst gaining valuable experience of supervising staff. You will be required to manage a team of Neighbourhood Service Advisors, supporting the delivery of front line services, dealing with all housing enquiries and ensuring great customer service is provided to all our customers.

You will also work alongside other Customer Service Officers looking at development within the department, and working collectively to introduce new or improved procedures. You will be supported throughout this role by the Housing Manager.

You will have 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade C/4 or above (including Maths and English) or relevant experience. The role will involve working with ICT therefore computer skills are essential as well as good organisational skills and you should be committed to delivering customer service to a high standard.

You will have experience of working in a customer service environment; dealing with members of the public in person and over the phone; interviewing and communicating effectively.
