The Service

Northumberland Telecare provides a service across Northumberland providing a range of Telecare equipment to enable service users to live independently in their own homes. We operate 24/7 every day of the year

The role

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to work both within our control room and out in the community providing a mobile warden service.

Control Room Operators respond to Telecare lifeline activations, assessing calls to ensure appropriate support is given. This may be re-assurance, signposting to another service or requesting support from emergency services.

Mobile Wardens install Telecare equipment across the County, carry out routine visits and respond to lifeline activations.

Successful applicants must have excellent communications skills and be confident to deal with emergency situations often where the caller is in distress. Individuals should have a calm and empathetic approach when dealing with vulnerable clients both over the phone and face to face.

The role will involve working a variety of shifts including days, evening, nights and weekends.

We are offering:
A starting salary of £17,044 (excluding enhancements for hours worked outside the standard working day)
Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (or other pension scheme)
A wide range of staff benefits including a competitive annual leave provision
