Further information

The Gateshead Housing Company does not accept CVs.

The Gateshead Housing Company is a non-profit organisation responsible for the day-to-day management of nearly 20,000 homes.

We aim to provide excellent and efficient services to create homes and neighbourhoods that meet the aspirations of the people of Gateshead.

We employ over 700 people and involve our customers in making our services better.

Applicants are invited to join the Concierge team who provide services to residents in four multi-storey blocks in Gateshead. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents.

The service is delivered seven days a week and Concierges work a variable shift pattern which operates between:

Monday – Thursday 08:00am to 22:00pm,
Friday and Saturday 08:00am – Midnight and Sundays 11:00am to 20:00pm

Your main duties will consist of: controlling access to multi-storey blocks and CCTV monitoring, recording and reporting incidents to the appropriate services. You will be first point of contact for residents and visitors and it is essential that you can communicate effectively with customers, partners and agencies to deliver excellent customer services.

Additional tasks include maintaining accurate records both written and on a computer system. This will include monitoring the functionality of the CCTV, door entry and smoke alarm systems, reporting any repairs or defects as required.

You should also have the ability to work unsupervised and use your initiative to resolve problems. Training will be provided in all aspects of the job.

The concierge role is an exciting opportunity to develop and build your knowledge of the company. Some of our previous employees have used the skills and knowledge obtained as a Concierge Officer to help them successfully progress into other areas of the business.

If you are interested in this post, please submit an application form detailing how your experience, skills and knowledge meet the essential requirements which are detailed in the job profile, giving examples of how you meet each essential criteria.

Previous applicants need not apply.

For an informal discussion about the role please email Karen Bell, Multi-storey Housing Manager karenbell@gatesheadhousing.co.uk or call 0191 433 5370
