Further information

Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.

As part of a joint working arrangement with Cleveland Police, the Community Safety Team covers a wide range of enforcement responsibilities and is looking to employ three Civil Enforcement Officers who will undertake a varied range of duties including patrolling public car parks and other public spaces and enforcing against environmental crime such as fly-tipping.

The postholder will be required to engage with members of the public and others in order to ensure legal compliance in a wide range of issues such as car parking, dog control, littering and fly tipping and where necessary, will issue Penalty Charge Notices, Fixed Penalty Notices and enforce other legal remedies including prosecution.

Due to the nature of the job, the postholder will be required to wear a uniform and work outdoors, occasionally in poor weather.

The postholder will be required to work a 37 hours per week on a shift pattern, which includes Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. There may also be a requirement to carry out some additional enforcement outside of the fixed core working hours (8am-6pm) for which overtime will be paid.
