The Welfare Rights Service delivers advice support and representation to residents of Sunderland in relation to Benefits Debt and Employment.

The Casework Support Officer will provide casework assistance and support to the Welfare Rights Service team in relation to triage, appointment management, recalls, outcomes and management information.

This includes triaging incoming referrals and offering appropriate onward signposting/referrals or internal appointments, including for people who have presented to the Council in food/fuel crisis. The post holder will liaise between the relevant teams and ensure that clients are directed to the appropriate assistance to avoid further food/fuel crisis.

The hours are 32.5 per week over a 5 day period.

The post holder can work between office and at home. This can be discussed with the successful candidate.

The recruitment programme will be application form and interview.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
