CARETAKER 37 hours per week, permanent contract, 52 weeks per year, with 25 days paid holiday entitlement plus bank holidays.
Salary Band 4 £19,554.
Applications are invited for the above post to start as soon as possible. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person to join our Trust, to provide a key role in maintaining our school sites (Newminster and Chantry Middle Schools), ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community.
Duties will include:
• Opening and closing the school
• Carry out security checks on the building
• Carry out and record statutory checks and help maintain Health and Safety records
• Maintenance of property and grounds to a high standard including liaising with contractors
• Monitor site stock and order supplies
• Carry out DIY above and beyond the scope of a competent DIY person, completing more specialist work as required
• Willingness to attend training courses including Health and Safety
The role is permanent, operating on a shift pattern. You will be employed across the Trust as part of the Facilities team. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for the successful candidate.
Previous relevant experience is required (not necessarily in a school setting as training will be provided). The successful candidate will be required to act as a key holder.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 6.45 am – 2.45 pm (2.15 pm finish Friday) and Monday to Friday 11.30 am – 7.30 pm (7.00 pm Friday). This shift pattern operates on an alternating week basis (i.e. week 1 early shift and week 2 late shift).
