Fixed Term Contract until September 2023 (Secondment Opportunity)

South Tyneside Council has a clear vision to be Carbon Neutral by 2030.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of a small team leading on the development, implementation and monitoring of the Council’s Strategy and Action plan to achieve this challenging target.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about environmental issues, highly motivated and able to undertake a wide variety of work. This will include working alongside other officers and Members as well as shaping the way forward by engaging with our residents, businesses and the wider community and partners to change behaviour.

The post holder will also develop and implement low carbon projects across the Council’s building and land portfolio, measure performance against invest to save and CO2 reduction criteria and trouble shoot problems that arise and identify practical solutions.

Applicants should have good experience of identifying and development of carbon reduction projects and must be willing to have flexible approach to working hours as and when required.

If you have good project management skills, are a strong communicator and can work collaboratively across teams and organisations then we would like to hear from you.
