Northumberland County Council are now recruiting for a part-time (20 hours per week) permanent position as Business Intelligence Analyst within the Business Intelligence Team to work in a remote UK based role with the ability to attend our Northumberland County Hall in Morpeth, Northumberland. There are a multitude of exciting opportunities to work with a variety of services to help support the organisation in striving towards continuous improvement and innovation.

If you have an interest in complex challenges, problem solving, and making a real change that will have a significant impact on the residents and operations of Northumberland County Council, we’d like you to seriously consider this role.

Striving towards improved collaboration efforts with new and existing partnerships (E.g. Police, Health organisations, Housing organisations, Etc). The role will include dealing with varieties of sensitive/non-sensitive data sets whilst communicating across the organisation internally as well as externally to help collaborate and contribute towards positive impactful change whilst overcoming challenges. The position will also give the opportunity to help build and maintain data processes required to effectively provide support to our residents, service areas, Member’s priorities and improve efficiency, positive change and promote new and smarter ways of working.

The role will entail but not require experience in using specialised software and techniques from a variety but not limited to several helpful tools and techniques for data analysis (E.g. Tableau, ESRI, Python, Etc). We are always looking for innovative changes and processes and desire a candidate who is eager to learn and join the team on this journey. NCC is made up of over 27+ service areas and therefore has the opportunity for exposure to a variety of perspectives and information. From working with existing systems and processes to understanding and creating/supporting new processes to help record more intuitive data sets required to support provisions to services, increasing value in data sets, and legislative changes (E.g. Implementation of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and how and which data will help support this implementation).

These roles will appeal to recent graduates or school leavers as well as more experienced candidates looking for a new challenge. Previous experience of working as part in the public sector is not a requirement for the Business Intelligence Analyst post.
